Avatrade offers two kinds of stop orders, Stop Losses (S/L) and Entry Stops (E/S):

• A Stop Loss is an order to close a position at a predefined rate as the price of an asset moves unfavourably for the trader's position. It is placed at a rate which is less favourable than the current market price.
• An Entry Stop is an order to open a trade at a predefined rate as the price of an asset moves favourably for the trader. We do not guarantee its Stop Losses or Entry Stops.

If there is a sharp market move and the current price of an instrument breaks through the trader's S/L or E/S, it will be executed at the next available price.
